Annual Armed School Staff Notice
In accordance with Ohio law and district policy, Clermont Northeastern Local Schools is providing this annual notification to inform families that one or more individuals have been authorized to carry a firearm within the school safety zones of our district during the 2025–2026 school year.
This decision was made with careful consideration to enhance the overall safety and security of our students, staff, and visitors. All individuals authorized under this provision have met the training, background check, and certification requirements established by the Ohio School Safety Center and the laws set forth in House Bill 99.
While we are required to inform you of this authorization, please note that specific details—including the identities and number of authorized individuals—are protected by law and are not subject to public disclosure.
Thank you for your continued partnership in supporting the safety and well-being of every student at Clermont Northeastern.
Student Data Privacy Notice
We want to share an important update about how Clermont Northeastern Schools is working to protect your child’s privacy when it comes to technology use and school-issued devices.
As part of a new Ohio law, Senate Bill 29 (SB 29), all public schools must strengthen their protections around student data and inform families about how technology is being used in the classroom. We fully support this effort and want to be transparent with you about what it means at CNE.
What SB 29 Means for Your Child:
Student information must be protected. Any technology company we work with must keep educational data secure and cannot use it for advertising or marketing.
Annual notifications. Each year, we will share a list of approved technology providers who have access to student data, what information they can see, and how you can review those agreements.
Limits on device monitoring. CNE cannot use school-issued devices to track location, record audio/video, or monitor student activity unless there is a clear educational or safety-related reason, and families will be notified if access is needed.

To see the current list of companies we partner with and the agreements in place to protect your child’s privacy, visit our public data privacy portal here:
