As we have previously shared, the CNE Board of Education was evaluating the possibility of moving the 5th grade from the Elementary to the Middle School at the start of the 2023-24 School Year. The Board of Education voted to leave the 5th grade at the Elementary School going forward. This decision was in response to the feedback the Board received from staff, families, and community members. We appreciate everyone who took the time to comment and share their concerns. The Board has not made a final decision regarding the continuation of Open Enrollment.
Additionally, the Board voted to contract with an architectural firm to study how space is used at the Elementary School and provide recommendations. The District will provide updates as we move through the process of selecting a firm, conducting a study of the space, and reviewing their recommendations.
