NJHS

CNE Middle School is excited to begin the initiating process for new members of National Junior Honor Society (NJHS), a worldwide organization that aims to elevate a school’s commitment to the values of scholarship, service, leadership, character, and citizenship. As a member of NJHS, students are not only recognized for their accomplishments, but challenged to develop further through active involvement in school activities and community service.

To be a member of NJHS, students must show those five pillars of character, leadership, service, scholarship, and citizenship in and out of the classroom. Additionally, students must have and keep a 3.5 GPA throughout the school year and need to have one letter of recommendation from a staff member. For students who are tapped to join NJHS, the initiation ceremony will be May 13, 2022. Parents/guardians will receive an invitation to the ceremony.

This school year, our current NJHS students have done or are set to do multiple service projects for our community. Recently, students held a food drive, where over 1,000 items were collected and donated to CNE Cares, a local food pantry for our community members. NJHS is about to kick off their Animal Food Drive, where students will raise money and collect donations for the local animal shelters in Clermont County.

Once new members are initiated, NJHS will be visiting CNE Elementary to meet some 5th graders who will be advancing to the Middle School next year in an effort to help them feel more comfortable in their school transition. NJHS will also be buddying up with Kindergartners to have a reading buddy for the remainder of the school year.
