Dear CNE Families,
I am writing to share an important administrative update regarding our football program. During a recent review, the district discovered that an ineligible student-athlete participated in our game this past Friday night.
Because Clermont Northeastern Local Schools strictly follows Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA) regulations, we are required to self-report this violation directly to the OHSAA Executive Director's Office. Furthermore, OHSAA Bylaw 10-2-1 mandates that any contest in which an ineligible athlete participates must be immediately forfeited. Consequently, Friday night's game will be recorded as a forfeit.
Please know that we take our students' privacy very seriously. In accordance with federal privacy laws (FERPA), the district and coaching staff are strictly prohibited from sharing the name or any specific details regarding the student involved in this eligibility matter. We view maintaining this confidentiality as an act of care and kindness toward our students, and we ask that our community respects this privacy as well.
We understand this is disappointing news for our team, who played hard on Friday. We are incredibly proud of their effort and resilience, and we look forward to supporting them through the rest of the season.
If you have any broad administrative questions, please feel free to reach out to the Athletic Department.
Respectfully,
Chad Heckler
Director of Athletics
