Clermont Northeastern High School has received its third consecutive Purple Star Designation from the Ohio Department of Education. The designation is due to Clermont Northeastern's unwavering support for our nation's military and military-connected children in our community. The Purple Star Award, not to be confused with the "Purple Heart Medal," is an Ohio ODE special recognition to local schools in the state that "recognizes schools that strongly commit to students and families connected to our nation’s military."

To be considered for the award, schools must meet certain criteria, such as providing a military liaison to families, hosting a military-recognized event that demonstrates a supportive culture, and having a process in place to help students with military-connected parents, to name a few. Every three years, schools must reaffirm their commitment by updating and/or continuing the plans and activities in place to renew the awarded designation. Clermont Northeastern High School has been awarded this recognition since 2018.  Thank you especially to Social Studies teacher Mr. Steve Thompson, who is responsible for applying for this award, and is a Purple Heart recipient himself!
