Tim Sies

CNE would like to extend a warm welcome to our new Superintendent, Tim Sies! Mr. Sies has extensive experience in education throughout the past 22 years, including a combination 12 years in the classroom; 13 years as an athletic coach; and 10 years in administration as a Middle School Principal, Assistant Principal, Secondary Campus Director, and Manager of the Positive School Culture and Safety Department. He comes to CNE from Washington Court House City Schools, where he served as Assistant Superintendent.

“There are so many things that attracted me to CNE,” Mr. Sies states. “I’m big on culture and pride, and CNE has that in spades! I can’t tell you how proud I am to now be a part of this community and tradition. When it comes down to it, however, it’s really about the people. Everyone I have met and interacted with are friendly, hard-working, and, most importantly, work to keep the students at the heart of every decision made and take action.”

Mr. Sies earned his Bachelor of Arts in Music Education at Wright State University before receiving his Master of Music in Music Education degree from The Ohio State University. He then earned a second Master’s degree from Concordia University-Portland in Educational Leadership, his Superintendent licensure from Miami University, and is currently studying Educational Leadership in a doctoral program at Concordia University-Chicago. Wow!

As he takes on the Superintendent role at CNE, Mr. Sies is focused on the district’s students, staff, and community: “My number one goal is always to positively impact those whom I serve. That's what I'm excited about; to serve the stakeholders of CNE.”

Mr. Sies adds, “As educators, we have the opportunity to partner with families in order to put students in the best possible situation to become the best possible version of themselves. As an educational leader, I also get the opportunity to do the same for our district staff.”

Just as he helps others learn and grow, Mr. Sies is laser-focused on being the best possible version of himself. He explains his philosophy as, “Every day poses a challenge and every challenge provides the opportunity to succeed. The only thing that matters is that I continue to strive to do better and to be better. My pursuit of excellence is simply to be better today than yesterday, and better tomorrow than today.”

In his free time, Mr. Sies enjoys spending time with an incredible blended family of seven – eight if you count the family dog! Along with his wife, Courtney, they have five children aged 7-16. He has a variety of interests that he tries to fit in between family, jobs, and working on his doctorate: “I have been an athlete all my life and still love to work out (I get up at 4am to work out before work); I am an avid reader (though I don't get to choose my books much anymore as I am knee-deep in doctoral work); and my number one priority in life is my family – my wife and kids – so anything related to them.”

He’s excited for the school year to start, even though transitioning from Washington Court House to CNE, as well as his doctoral work, means he has not had much time for relaxation this summer. But that’s 100% fine with him, as serving others feeds his soul: “Mark Twain once said: ‘The two most important days in your life are the day you are born and the day you find out why.’ I learned many years ago that my purpose on this earth is to serve others; there truly is no greater honor than that.”
