Dar Porter

Dar Porter is no stranger to CNE Middle School, and after a cool six years as an 8th grade Intervention Specialist at CNE Middle School, with experience as a member of multiple CNE teams and Family Engagement Coordinator through the CLSD grant, she has been promoted to Assistant Principal.

“I love the people and the small, family-like feel at CNE,” says Ms. Porter. “The system’s work is inspiring and innovative. CNE is a unicorn, and I have loved working in the district for the last six years.”

Ms. Porter is thrilled to continue bringing her 11 years of teaching experience to her leadership position at the Middle School. “Education is the best profession,” she adds. “It is a place where every day we have the opportunity to make a difference in the world and in the lives of others; and at CNE, I am excited about continuing to work with amazing students, staff, and community members where we are improving the lives of our students.”

Ms. Porter received her undergraduate degree from Northern Kentucky University and her Master’s from Xavier. She and husband Don have 4 children ranging in age from 17 to 3. Their family also has 3 fur babies – two dogs and a cat. A former coach, Ms. Porter loves not only to participate in sports, but to watch them: “If we are not playing a sport, we are watching someone else in the family play their sport,” she laughs. She loves Mexican food and taking trips with her extended family. This summer, she has gotten to relax before taking on her new role by taking a 2-week vacation. “We have a lot of kids and are blessed with an amazing family and group of friends,” she says gratefully. “This summer, we spent a week at Santa Rosa Beach with friends and a week in Orlando with our immediate family (17 kids and 13 adults – my husband is one of 6!). We spent as much time as we could by the pool, at the zoo, and with our loved ones.”

CNE Middle School looks forward to having Ms. Porter helping at the helm as much as she is looking forward to serving our students in this new role. “I am excited about continuing to work with amazing students, staff, and community members where we are improving the lives of our students,” she says.
