The Ohio Department of Education requires school districts to provide instruction for a minimum number of hours each school year. Any time school is closed for weather, illness, etc it counts against the minimum number of hours required. Due to the middle school daily schedule and closures related to winter weather and illnesses, CNE Middle School is in danger of not meeting the minimum number of instructional hours for the 2021-2022 school year.
In the event the district has to close for winter weather, illness, etc, CNE Middle School will call a Virtual Learning Day. This only applies to Middle School students and staff at this time. The Virtual Learning Day will help to ensure the Middle School stays in compliance with the State's requirements for hours of instruction. Middle School students will be required to log into their Google Classrooms and complete the assigned activities for all classes. The CNE Middle School staff will be available, via email, to answer any questions or concerns on those days.
At this time the High School and Elementary will not be required to participate in virtual learning if school is closed due to weather, illness, etc. If you have any questions please contact your building principal.
