Music is another literary form used daily. Did you know... "Jingle Bells", originally titled " One Horse Open Sleigh", was written by James Lord Pierpont in 1857. It was actually written as a Thanksgiving Song and never intended for the Christmas season. "Jingle Bells" was also, according to the Guinness World Records, the first song ever played in space on December 16, 1965. Astronauts Walter Schirra and Tom Stafford used a harmonica and a bell — also the first instruments in space — to perform the song aboard NASA's Gemini 6A space flight. It doesn’t get more farm to table than this, the first batch of lettuce harvested from the aquaponics system in Mr. Wells’ classroom! It will be incorporated into lunches in all 3 buildings. A small taste of what’s to come once our greenhouse is installed and operational.

Tonight’s performance of Moana, Jr was amazing! I overheard a 4 year old say it was better than the movie she’s seen 100 times. Check it out this weekend if you have time, you will not be disappointed. The Middle School students do an excellent job!

Mrs. Price's Thanksgiving Literacy Tidbit ~~~ Just Say Thank You!
over 2 years ago, T.J. Glassmeyer
Just say Thank You. Take some time to show your gratitude this week. Write a thank-you note to someone. That's right, don't text, snap, tweet it, or leave a voicemail message. Actually, take the time to write it. The time you put into it by writing the note will mean a great deal. Did you know that the first Thank You note can be traced back to the Europeans in the 1400s? They hand-delivered greeting cards to family and friends as a form of social expression
Thank you to Jerry Ferris, John Prazynksi, and Steve Thompson for sharing their stories, experiences, sacrifices, and losses with our students during today's Veterans Day Assembly. We appreciate them taking the time to share their powerful messages with our students.

If you like spooky short stories, Ms.Elliott recommends A Rose for Emily by William Faulkner. Real-life can sometimes be scarier than fiction. Ms. Wayne prefers real-life scenarios and she recommends reading Devil in the White City: Murder, Magic, and Madness at the Fair that Changed America by Erik Larson.
