CNE High School Families,

We have spent the last several weeks planning for how to continue instruction in the event schools were closed for longer than the initial “3 Week Extended Spring Break”.  We are very fortunate that the District and Board of Education have invested heavily in technology, providing all students with a chromebook.  The majority of our teachers already use Google Classroom and electronic means to enhance their instruction.  While it is not ideal to have students learn virtually it is the best way to keep everyone safe and healthy.  I truly believe that the structures we already have in place will help ease the transition to online learning and ensure we are still meeting the needs of our students.

Starting next week we will expect students to resume their studies.  Teachers will post lessons each Friday on Google Classroom and students will have one week to complete them.  All teachers will spend time online each week, through Google Meet, interacting with students and assisting them with their classwork.  The first set of lessons will be posted this Friday, April 3rd.  Students will receive grades for the work so it is important that they are working hard each week to complete it.   Also, this Friday at 10a we encourage students to virtually meet with their 4th period teachers to check-in.  Teachers will be sending out Google Meet links through Google Classroom today or tomorrow.

If your child does not have reliable access to the internet and requires paper copies of assignments please call me at 513-625-1211 x112.  Also, if your child did not bring their chromebook home please call or email me and we will arrange a time for you to pick it up.

 Other Items

I know many Juniors and Seniors are concerned about Prom.  We have been in contact with B & B Riverboats about attempting to reschedule the Prom.  We could still have Prom on June 13th, provided the Social Distancing and Stay at Home Orders are lifted by then.  Juniors and Seniors were sent a survey this morning asking if they were interested in having Prom on June 13th.  Please encourage your child to check their school email and complete the survey.  Once everyone has completed the survey we will look at the results and determine if rescheduling Prom is an option.

Seniors, we are also working with Crossroads to find an alternate date for Graduation, should the Stay at Home Order and Social Distancing continue past May 1st.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns.
