Clermont Northeastern Families,

The message below was shared earlier in April. Additionally, local JROTC programs presented to our students on Friday to share more information about the benefits of the program. If your child is interested in enrolling in JROTC for next school year, contact Amy Comisar at comisar_a@cneschools.org, or have your child visit the guidance office to have this class added to their class schedule for the 23-24 school year.

Clermont Northeastern High School is excited to announce that it will be implementing the Junior Reserve Officer’s Training Corps (JROTC) in collaboration with the US Department of Defense for the 2023-24 school year.

This highly engaging program teaches character education, student achievement, health and wellness, and leadership skills to our students.  The leadership, citizenship, teamwork, time-management, self-discipline, and communication skills student learn through the program will help them be successful in their future endeavors.

Students who participate in the JROTC program are under no obligation to join the military upon graduation.  JROTC provides students with the skills, experiences, and knowledge to succeed in college, the workforce, or the military.

Students enrolled in JROTC have a higher chance of graduating high school on time, earn higher GPAs, and have better attendance.

All students at the high school will be eligible to participate in Year 1 of the program.  During the initial course, students learn Physical Fitness, Drill & Ceremony, Military Ranks, Flag Etiquette, Self-discovery, and Community Service.  Students who continue with the program will be exposed to military history, navigation, first aid, public speaking, personal finance, resume writing, and job interviewing skills.

In the coming weeks, we will share how interested students can enroll in a JROTC class for the upcoming school year.  We look forward to the opportunities the JROTC program will provide to our students.
