*** Kindergarten registration opens February 15 ***
It’s that time of year – Kindergarten Registration! If you are interested in sending your child to Kindergarten for the 2022-2023 school year, please keep reading for registration dates and important upcoming dates.
It’s important to register early so that our school can begin planning ahead for the next school year as soon as possible. Open registration for CNE residents will begin on February 15. Open enrollment for all interested, despite residency, will begin March 1. Stay on the lookout for registration links as we approach those dates.
Once you have registered your Kindergartener, the fun begins! View the important dates below:
May 3, 6-7 pm – Bring your kindergartener to the Elementary School playground to introduce yourselves and your students to our Kindergarten teachers! This will give you an opportunity to ask any questions you may have before summer vacation. If it rains, the event will be moved to the cafeteria.
August 9 – After summer vacation, the district will be hosting a Kindergarten Ready Rocket event for both parents and students. The event will feature overviews of the Kindergarten curriculum, developmental readiness, Kindergarten readiness, attendance information, and daily schedules. Building administrators and Kindergarten staff will be available to answer questions. In addition, the students will experience a mini-day of Kindergarten!
August 18 – Time for school! In order to ensure students are fully able to interact with their teachers and learn their daily routines, boys only will attend on this date.
August 19 – Girls only will attend on this date to ensure they are fully able to interact with their teachers and learn their daily routines.
August 22 – All students attend.
The staggered start allows there to be smaller numbers in the classroom so students can adjust to the classroom and school in a smaller setting. This also allows for teachers to go over lots of information and conduct a Kindergarten Readiness Assessment to measure each child’s readiness for engaging with instruction aligned to the Kindergarten standards.
