National Honor Society Induction
By Sarahy Palafox
It’s that time of year again where Juniors and Seniors are picked to be in the National Honor Society, an event that was held this year on March 2, 2017. New to Clermont Northeastern High School is Mrs.Kirkland (who is teaching 9th grade English), is the current adviser for the National Honor Society. “This organization focuses on scholarships, service to the community and volunteer work,” said Mrs.Kirkland. If you are interested in joining National Honor Society then you had to apply, complete community service and have a 3.5 or higher GPA.
There were twenty members that were selected out of the twenty-five that applied this year. At the NHS induction, those who were accepted into the organization walked down the aisle with the Senior NHS members to be seated in front of the stage. Where they will begin the event the officers, members of NHS that were chosen to lead the organization, read their speeches and lit the candles to initiate the service. All the new members recited the NHS pledge and officially became members of NHS. Congratulations to the students that were inducted into the National Honor Society. They have worked incredibly hard to earn the honor and they represent some of our best and brightest students.
