IMPORTANT LETTER TO JUNIORS ABOUT THE ACT
OGT
Juniors and seniors still needing to pass one or more parts of the Ohio Graduation Tests (OGTs) will be tested during the week of October 22-26.
OGTs will be given to sophomores March 10-14.
Mental Health Specialist
CNE will again be having a school-based mental health specialist from Child Focus in the building on Mondays. They work with students individually or in group settings to build skills related to anger management, conflict resolution, social skills, self-esteem, communication, grief and loss, decision-making skills, etc. in an effort to reduce barriers to learning. If you are interested in having your child receive these services, please contact the guidance office.

The PLAN® program helps 10th graders build a solid foundation for future academic and career success and provides information needed to address school districts' high-priority issues. It is a comprehensive guidance resource that helps students measure their current academic development, explore career/training options, and make plans for the remaining years of high school and post-graduation years.
PLAN can help all students—those who are college-bound as well as those who are likely to enter the workforce directly after high school.
As a "pre-ACT" test, PLAN is a powerful predictor of success on the ACT. At the same time, many schools recognize the importance of PLAN testing for all students, as it focuses attention on both career preparation and improving academic achievement.
COLLEGE VISITS/JOB SHADOWING
Juniors and seniors are encouraged to visit colleges and employers. Juniors are allowed one visit and seniors are allowed three visits a school year. This is an excused absence from school with the proper forms filled out. The necessary form can be picked up in the guidance office.
COLLEGE REPRESENTATIVE VISITS
Each fall 15 to 20 college admissions counselors visit Clermont Northeastern High School. Juniors and seniors may sign up in the guidance office to meet with these representatives. This is an opportunity for students to obtain information about schools.
APPLICATION TO COLLEGE
Seniors should make application to college in the fall of their senior year, before December 1st in order to ensure that they do not miss any scholarship deadlines. The college core requirements are 4 English, 3-4 math, 3-4 science, 3-4 social studies, 2-3 foreign languages, and 1 fine art.
FASFA
The Free Application for Federal Student Aid is to be mailed no sooner than January 1st of the student’s senior year. Clermont Northeastern High School hosts a “Financial Aid Information Night” for parents and students. Please check the web site for date.
