This course is designed to satisfy the Ohio graduation requirements for life science when taken in conjunction with Biology I. Students will explore the history of life on Earth, evolutionary theory, classification of organisms, population genetics, interspecies and intraspecies relationships, ecosystem dynamics, and biome trends and characteristics. Historical perspectives and revolutions, abilities to do technological design and scientific inquiry, the nature of science, and ethical practices are also stressed in this course. Students should expect lab activities and exercises with follow up reports, daily assignments, and at least one major project during the trimester. Science notebooks and/or journals are a required part of this course.
